What is a video background remover?

Do I need a green screen?
No. The tool is designed for ordinary video backgrounds. A clearly visible subject, useful contrast, and limited motion blur can help produce a cleaner result.
Which video formats can I upload?
You can upload MP4, MOV, and WebM files encoded with H.264, HEVC, or VP9. The tool checks the media details before upload and explains when an input is unsupported.
How do clip length and credits work?
Credits follow the number of selected seconds. The workbench checks the clip against the processing range available for your account before it starts. If your balance is too low, you can add credits and continue.
Will the transparent result keep my audio?
The processing request preserves audio. When the source contains audio, the completed transparent master is checked for the expected audio before the job is marked ready.
What can I download?
The primary transparent download is a WebM with VP9 alpha. Eligible clips up to 10 seconds and 1080p can also be exported as transparent ProRes 4444 MOV. If you choose a solid color or static image background, you can export a composited MP4.
Can I replace the background instead of making it transparent?
Yes. Preview the processed subject over a solid color or your own JPG, PNG, or WebP image, then create a composited MP4. Dynamic video backgrounds are not currently supported.
Can I close the page while processing?
Yes. Once processing has started, the job continues in the background. Return with the same account to check its status and review the result.
Will the video background remover work on every scene?
No AI separation tool can promise a perfect result for every frame. Transparent objects, fine fast-moving details, motion blur, reflections, and multiple fast-moving subjects can be difficult. Preview and compare the result before using it in a final project.
What happens if processing fails?
The job shows a failed state instead of presenting an unusable result. Credits reserved for a processing or system failure are returned.
How are my files protected?
Uploads and completed results are kept in private storage. Preview, download, and export requests require the signed-in account that owns the job. A background-removal provider processes the selected video.
